Sangla Altitude – 5,300 Ft. Kalpa Altitude – 10,000 Ft

After breakfast, get ready to ride up to the last village before China. Devour the magnificent views of the valley of the Chitkul & take a walk around the river. Kalpa Altitude – 5,300 Ft. Kaza Altitude – 12,500 Ft

When we start today, you wish to ride slowly to devour the scenery blue Spiti and Snow mountains. Any way riding slow not an option, you are duly forced by black ice and landslides. Why the roads of NH 505 in such state? Well, the credit goes to the surprises – Slush, rolling stones, & confidence freezing temperatures. Although, the road grows merciful to the derriere later. The kazigs (hairpin turns) and the snow-capped mountains confuse you where to look. You know the correct answer. We reach freezing land Kaza in the evening. There There! We are in the Capital of The Spiti Valley.

Day 6 – Kaza Local ( 100 Kms )

Kaza Altitude – 12,500 Ft

The city itself is bliss separated into old and new Kaza by Kaza Nullah. Today we are out to visit some of the less explored locations high on the east side of Spiti Valley. You are very versed with atrocities of the road so no need mentioning them again. The Chau Chau Kang Nilda seems to be close enough to touch at Langza & do not forget to collect sea fossils. Leaving Langza, we reach yet another high-altitude village Hikkim, loaded with many `highest in the world` awards. You can see ruins of the Tangyut Monastery destroyed in 1975 earthquake. Finally, we head to the highest motorable village Komic before heading back to our nest in Kaza.

Day 7 – Kaza – Chandratal ( 120 Kms )

Kaza Altitude – 12,500 Ft Chandratal Altitude – 14,000 Ft

You get to explore local avenues in the morning – Kaza Monastery, Key Monastery and Kibber Monastery. Among these, Kibber Monastery, established in the 11th century, has the largest concerning numbers. On the other hand, Key Monastery offers the breath-taking view of Spiti Valley from the aloft rock. Later when the sun sits right on the head, we direct our handlebar towards The Chandra Tal (Moon Lake). Unlike before, Spiti river flows on the right, loater again on the left. You ride on the Manali road until Kunzum Pass. Afterwards, we take 8 Km long `road of stones & water` , accompanied by meadows. At last, we reach the Colour Changing Lake, which sits in the lap of The Himalayas (14000Ft). Sit at the bank and witness the ultimate time-laps of The Moon Lake.

Day 8 – Chandratal – Manali ( 120 Kms)

Chandratal Altitude – 14,000 Ft Manali Altitude – 6,700 Ft

After being mesmerised by the sunrise and good breakfast, we gear up to leave for Manali. The road seems soothing to eyes and comforting to the back for a while. We will take Batal road via Kunzum pass. Soon after it turns into the dream of an off-roader & nightmare for cruising rider. Big boulders hurdling your path in water stream is not what everyone dreams of. We ride further to conquer the newly build Atal tunnel before we reach Manali. We enjoy the moments of the trip at the dinner table at the hotel.
